OT Eats was founded in 2015, the culmination of a variety of experiences had by Stephanie Winston.
Stephanie is an occupational therapist with over 10 years of experience working primarily with children with special needs in NY, DC and Texas. After practicing occupational therapy for 5 years and using cooking as a therapeutic medium, she decided that she wanted to combine her two passions: health and wellness and occupational therapy in a way that would really make an impact on people's lives. She wanted to teach people how to cook.
But not just how to cook in any way, but rather in a way that would support health and healing and encourage her clients to make good choices in regards to their health and well being.
In 2011, Stephanie applied to and was accepted into the Natural Gourmet Institute's Chefs Training program - a culinary school known worldwide for its innovative culinary program she graduated in 2012. Since then, she has been cooking, teaching and practicing occupational therapy in the Houston area.
The clients of OT EATS are as colorful as the food Stephanie makes. In addition to people who simply have a desire to eat better, she also works with organizations and people who are living with lifestyle related diseases such as diabetes and hypertension as well as children and adults with autism, cancer, cerebral palsy, strokes and those with food allergies.
